The new OPC HTTP Gateway is available for both OPC DA and OPC UA. This update makes secure deployments the default and fixes a long-standing issue that could stop WebSocket updates after extended run times.
- Modern HTTPS out of the box. When SSL is enabled, the gateway now speaks TLS 1.2 and above with strong ciphers and turns away obsolete, insecure protocols. Still have to support an old client for a while? A new opt-insetting keeps you running until you can upgrade it.
- Reliable real-time streaming. We resolved a problem where, after running for a long time or handling many client connections, the gateway could stop pushing OPC value changes over WebSocket - and stop answering new subscriptions - until it was restarted. It now detects and re-establishes a dropped OPC connection automatically, and always sends a reply to a subscribe / re-subscribe request, so clients are never left waiting in silence.
- Point it at any configuration. The new "-config" command-line option lets you start the gateway with any configuration file - ideal for multi-site setups or keeping configurations in a central folder.
- Hardened and more resilient. Improved login handling for shared connections, timing-safe password checks, protection against oversized or malformed requests, and smoother handling of network interruptions and unresponsive OPC servers.

Now, the program can decode data from LPR (Line Printer Daemon), ZPL (Zebra), and ESC-POS print jobs intended for serial printers used with controllers in industrial or commercial environments. Which further expands the scope of use. More on.
