NEC DSX 160. SMDR/CDR data format and connection settings
This data is being extracted with help of the "Advanced PBX Data Logger" software only. It may not applicable for other software titles.
NEC DSX 40, 80, 160 cable pinout
To connect to the DSX serial port you ma use:
- Adaptor P/N 1091014 to connect to the 9-pin printer serial port
- Use a standard 6-conductor line cord from the adaptor DSX serial port.
Note: The PBX does not buffer SMDR records when the computer is offline or disconnected.
Default communication parameters for DSX:
- Serial port baud rate: 38,400;
- Number of data bits: 8;
- Parity: None;
- Stop bits: 1.

NEC DSX programming
- 1541-01: SMDR Port, enter 1 (RS232) to enable SMDR output.
- 1101-01: Baud Rate, change the DSX serial port baud rate (if necessary, 1 for 2400, 2 for 9600, 3 for 19,200, 4 for 38,400, 5 for 57,600).
- 1541-02: Print SMDR Headers, enter Yes.
- 3111-06: Station Message Detail Recording, enter Yes.
- 1541-03: SMDR Language, enter 1 (English).

Configuring a COM port
The COM port number should match the number in your system. You can check the correct port number in Devices Manager → Ports.
1. Add a new configuration with the RS232 data source (if you didn't it before).

2. Select the COM port and configure the communication settings for your PBX corresponding to your PBX settings.
