Other PBX SMDR formats, Alcatel to London
Advanced PBX Data Logger includes 14 parsers for PBX systems from smaller or discontinued vendors. This page gathers them in one place. For each system you will find how the call records reach the logger, the parser to select, and the 146 fields in total that these parsers extract for PBX Reports or a database. Of these, 2 over RS-232; the rest are identified by their record layout and can arrive over a serial port or a LAN connection. The settings apply to our logger; other call accounting software may expect a different configuration.

Connecting the logger
Add a data source in PBX Data Logger that matches the interface named in each section: RS232 for a serial SMDR port, TCP client when the PBX accepts connections, TCP server when the PBX pushes records to the logger, or FTP for systems that write CDR files. Then open Modules → Query Parse Filter → Data query, click Setup and select the parser named in the section. The general steps are shown on the SMDR listener page; every other supported system is listed on the supported PBX index.

Record format notes
- Trunk Calls In format: mm/dd date, hh:mmP time (P/A=pm/am), start time as board+channel numbers, duration, trunk PAD number, calling party, called party, account code, all in an 80+ character line.
- Extension Calls Out format places calling party at columns 23-26 and called number at 33-58, with account code at 72-79, differing from the Trunk-In layout.
- Internal extension-to-extension calls and outbound calls under 15 seconds are not logged to SMDR.

Aristel AV38 (DD MM)
Parser: Aristel AV38 (DD MM)
Connection: Serial. The SMDR or printer port of the PBX is connected to a COM port; speed, data bits, parity and flow control must match the PBX.

Programming PBX
Access to the system programming zone is restricted to personnel with the "Programming Password". Because it can check the programming steps and information during the programming only LCD Key Phones can be used for programming.
Entering System Programming
On Hook Programming:
Step 1. On Hook.
Step 2. Press [FUNC] + [#]. System will ask for Programming Password.
Step 3. Enter Programming Password. (If password in Program Zone 301-01 is "dd... " then ignore this step.)
Step 4. Press [SAVE].
Step 5. If the system denies the password a continuous tone will be heard. Press [SPK] to quit the programming
status and restart from Step 2. If the system accepts the password you can now enter the system programming and the LCD phone will display the following message.
Step 6. Enter the zone number in which you wish to set the data.
Step 7. Press [SAVE] to confirm the setting data and it will be stored in the system memory. The programming will go on to the next step automatically.
Step 8. Press [FUNC] key at any time to return to the main message.
Default password: dddddddd
NOTE 1: 1. The current programming status will be displayed on LCD. 2. There are 16 characters divided by two (2) lines in LCD display. The upper line is the ROGRAMMING STATUS AREA. The lower line is the SETTING DATA AREA.
REVIEW RS232 STATUS (Console Only)
Step 1: Handset on Hook.
Step 2: Press [TRF/FL] twice (in AV-8/AV-12/AV-38/AV-64/64H), or press [TRF/FL] 3 times (in AV-256).
NOTE 2: If system’s RS232 output is locked will display "SMDR is lock", if system’s RS232
output is unlock will display "SMDR is unlock"
Date and Time
304 - Sets system Date and Time and is controlled by the System’s Real Time Clock. Users can see the current date and time displayed on the LCD. (If format of Date for Australian market = dd/mm/yy)

RS-232 must be installed in the A8MBUA.

The installation has been well shown as above chart. Remark: only point No.2~6 on RS232 to be used in AV-20 KTS

Unlocking SMDR data
If your system is equipped with an RS-232 port and is using a printer to keep a telephone log, you can temporarily suspend the output of the RS-232 port so you can change the paper on the printer or for any other reason where the printer needs to go off line. If you lock the SMDR port, calls will be stored in the PBX until you re-enable the port.
- Press SPK.
- Dial 7, 7, 2.
This will toggle the RS-232 port on or off. If you have an LCD equipped telephone, the display will show the current status of the SMDR port. If it is on, the display will show "SMDR IS UNLOCK." If it is off, the display will show "SMDR IS LOCK."

Reports and a database
Once records arrive, the logger writes them to a text file or to any ODBC database in real time, or hands them to the PBX Reports utility for manual, scheduled and e-mailed reports with a built-in web server. See exporting call log data to a database for the database setup.
