NEC call logging


The following data will be logged from NEC (LAN Flexible Format Variable Length). The program can extract several data fields: Call type, Direction, Fusion Point Code, Route + Trunk, Logical Outgoing Route, Calling party type, Tenant number, Calling party, Call time, Call time end, Call duration (s), Account, Condition code, Phone, Caller number, Fusion Point Code of Calling Party, Fusion User Group Number of Calling Party, Called Party Identification, Fusion Point Code that was used, Fusion Point Code which was first selected, Logical Route Number that was used, Logical Route Number which was first selected, Office Code of Calling Party, Office Code of Billing Process Office, Tenant, Selected route, First route, Metering pulses, Authorization code, Charge unit, Cost (in basic units), ATT Billing Report Indication, Billing Report ATT Number, Data Identification, Calling Party Number or ANI Presentation Identifier, Converted Number, Department Code, Calling Party Number or ANI, Calling Party Multi-Area ID, Seized Route MA-ID.

Your telephone system (or PBX, PABX) produces a packet of data (a call record) after every phone call your company or office makes through it. These call records contain important information about each call, including whether it was an incoming call, and outgoing call, or another type, such as an internal (extension to extension) call.

Call log records from NEC contain information about the caller phone and the dealed phone, as well as extra information such as the call duration, the time of the call, and other information, such as which telephone line (trunk) was used to carry the call.

The usual practice of NEC call logging involves capturing these call records, parsing it, and storing them in a database, and their subsequent retrieval by way of a reporting interface.
