LG Ericsson IPECS MFIM50A SMDR setup and CDR format
This page shows how to get call records out of the LG Ericsson IPECS MFIM50A into Advanced PBX Data Logger: the connection settings, the parser to select and the 15 fields the logger extracts for reports or a database. The settings apply to our logger; other call accounting software may expect a different configuration.

Configuring the PBX
Note: You need to assign a static IP address to the PBX (for example, 192.168.1.220).
1. Open a web browser on your computer.
2. Enter the IP address and port of the IPECS [for example, 192.168.1.220:53000] in the address bar of your browser and press the "Enter" key.
3. You will get the administration console.
4. Log in as "System Administrator."
5. Click on "System data → Serial Port Selections" as shown below: On-line SMDR print - NULL - 5700
6. To enable "Caller ID" information in the call records produced by your LG iPECS, you need to set the "CLI Print To Serial" to "ON" on the "ISDN Line Data → ISDN attributes (200)" page.
7. Change the SMDR attributes as shown below.
8. Do not forget to save all changes.
Settings from the manufacturer's documentation
Taken from LG UCP SMDR manual. Values are those stated in the documentation; confirm them against your firmware release.
Switching SMDR output on, as documented
- Enable 'Print Incoming Calls' and 'Print Lost Calls' in the SMDR Attributes for the system to output real-time Lost Call records in addition to normal call records.
- Assign SMDR Ring/CLI/CPN Service-I and Service-II (and optionally SMDR Disconnect Cause, SMDR ICM Save/Print) under System Data > SMDR Attributes to control what the NUM I/NUM II and DC fields show.
Record format notes
- The SMDR call-record layout has fields NO (record number, optional), STA (station, up to 8 digits), CO (2-3 digit CO line number), TIME (duration), START (date/time), NUM I (dialed number outgoing / ring duration or CLI/CPN incoming), COST, ACCOUNT CODE, NUM II, and DC (Disconnect Cause).
- Disconnect Cause (DC) is coded 01~7F as the Q.931 cause value, 81 for toll-restricted disconnects, 84/85 for disconnect supervision, and 0 for other.
- For a lost/abandoned call, the first character of the NUM I field flags how the call was ringing when abandoned: R = normal ring to a station, G = ring to a station group, H = call placed on hold (including transfer hold).
- SMDR output is a plain ASCII stream of up to 80 characters per line, with a header (including the Customer Site Id) repeated every 66th line.
Configuring PBX Data Logger as a TCP client
Our software should work in the TCP client mode. It means that our software will initiate connection with the PBX and the PBX will work as a server. Add one or several PBX IP addresses here (the IP address of the LG Ericsson IPECS). The port number should match the port that you have defined within the PBX (5700 in the example below).
1. Add a new configuration with the TCP data source (if you didn't it before).

2. Configure the TCP settings as shown below.

192.168.1.220
5700
192.168.1.220:5700

Ericsson-LG programming software
Ericsson-LG iPECS systems are programmed through the iPECS Web Admin interface built into the system; older releases also used the PC Admin application. Neither comes from AGG Software. The SMDR settings on this page are made there; PBX Data Logger receives the records they switch on.
Reports and a database
Once records arrive, the logger writes them to a text file or to any ODBC database in real time, or hands them to the PBX Reports utility for manual, scheduled and e-mailed reports with a built-in web server. See exporting call log data to a database for the database setup.
