Mitel SX 200 EL SMDR setup and CDR format

This page shows how to get call records out of the Mitel SX 200 EL into Advanced PBX Data Logger: the connection settings, the parser to select and the 11 fields the logger extracts for reports or a database. The settings apply to our logger; other call accounting software may expect a different configuration.

Switching SMDR output on, as documented

On the COS define Form, enable Extended SMDR or the SX-200 will truncate call record data.
On the COS define Form, enable the SMDR - Records Incoming Calls option for every Class of Service currently in use.
Enable SMDR reporting on the trunk groups for outbound calls via the Trunk Group Form.
After programming the Directed I/O Form, also enable the report from the Maintenance Console application or it will not be generated.
Program the Data Circuit Descriptor, Data Assignment and Directed I/O forms in that order to get SMDR data flowing from the SX-200 to the accounting server.

Record format notes

The Directed I/O Form's GUARANTEED field, only modifiable for SMDR and Data SMDR printouts, defaults to NO; set to YES to guarantee SMDR records print without loss.

Reports and a database

Once records arrive, the logger writes them to a text file or to any ODBC database in real time, or hands them to the PBX Reports utility for manual, scheduled and e-mailed reports with a built-in web server. See exporting call log data to a database for the database setup.
